Sarah Palin: 'Stand Up for SEALs Standing Up for Us'

First the Obama Administration opened up the possibility of prosecuting CIA interrogators doing their jobs seeking information from terrorists. Then they tried to go after the Bush Administration lawyers who acted in good faith to protect us in the months after 9/11. Now some of the military brass are court-martialing three brave Navy SEALs for allegedly throwing a single punch at Iraqi terrorist leader Ahmed Hashim Abed. This is wrong. The Washington Times got it right: Save the SEALs.

These brave warriors belong in combat, not in the courthouse. They captured the most wanted terrorist in Iraq. We may never know how many other heroic missions they undertook on behalf of our country. The charges should be dropped, and they should be returned to their unit – with our gratitude for their service.

Stand up for the SEALs who are standing up for us!

- Sarah Palin

Conservatives rally behind SEALs accused of mistreating Iraqi

The case has prompted an outcry from conservative members of Congress and members of the military's secretive Special Operations Forces, who say the Navy commandos are innocent. More than 40 members of Congress -- nearly all of them Republicans -- have signed letters calling upon the Pentagon to exonerate the SEALs, while accusing military leaders of bending over backward to protect a prisoner believed responsible for one of the most gruesome slayings of Americans in Iraq.

"These people are laying their lives on the line, and they can't go into a combat situation with kid gloves on," Rep. Dan Burton (R-Ind.) said Thursday at a Capitol Hill news conference. The SEALs, he added, "should be hailed as heroes for doing their job."

The jihadist thug responsible for the murder and mutilation of four US contractors in Iraq will now get to "j'accuse" two genuine American heroes in open court -- for giving him a well-deserved bloody lip.

The Pentagon's persecution -- er, prosecution -- of Navy SEALs Jonathan Keefe, Julio Huertas and Matthew McCabe took a surreal turn this week when a military judge ordered Keefe's and Huertas' trials relocated to Iraq so terrorist Ahmed Hashim Abed could appear.

Navy Releases "Charge Sheets" for the SEAL Three--on a Saturday Night!

The most "serious" charge is below (keep in mind the redacted "victim" of the "midsection strike" burned alive and murdered 4 Americans, mutilated their bodies and hung two of them from a bridge)...

The US Navy released the "charge sheets" detailing all the alleged crimes of the Three SEALs charged with assault of the mastermind of the 2004 torture, murder and mutilation of the US security guards in Fallujah. One has to wonder what parallel universe of wuss our military brass has to live in to charge an elite Navy SEAL with a "hit to the gut" on a piece of scum who committed such heinous crimes. I guess the same universe that promotes the Nidal Hassan to Colonel after he advocates jihad and after finding out about his emails to foreign extremists, instead of bouncing him from the service. These fine men are being sacrificed upon the altar of political correctness, plain and simple, and it stinks.

What on Earth is this about? Read on in disbelief...

Three brave Navy SEALs who captured the most wanted terrorist in Iraq on September 3rd, 2009 are being charged with assault because that same terrorist--who planned the savage murders of 4 Americans in 2004--claimed they gave him a "fat lip". A COURT MARTIAL hearing is scheduled for December 7th!

This same terrorist, Ahmed Hashim Abed, and his followers killed 4 American contractors, burning two of them alive, dragged their bodies through the streets, and hung two of them from a bridge over the Euphrates River. Yet now the politically-correct military is prosecuting the very men who captured him, because he said they gave him a BLOODY LIP? Why are the military taking the word of a murdering terrorist over our brave fighting men?

THIS MUST NOT STAND!

It was March 31, 2004: Fallujah, Iraq. Four civilian U.S. contractors were transporting supplies for a catering company. They were ambushed, killed, their bodies burned and dragged through the streets, then hung from a bridge on the Euphrates River.
A NAVY SEAL TEAM captured one of the military's "most wanted" terrorists, the one responsible for the heinous crime.

Now 4 of our bravest and finest are facing prosecution because the vile terrorist claimed to IRAQI autorities that he got a bloody lip while in their custody--despite the total lack of physical evidence:

  • SO-2 Petty Officer Second Class Matthew McCabe is accused of punching the terrorist, and is also charged with dereliction of duty for "failing" to "safeguard" the murderer.
  • SO-2 Petty Officer Jonathan Keefe and SO-1 Julio Huertas are being charged with dereliction of duty and making false statements.

The prisoner alleges that he was punched in the face by McCabe, but it isn't clear if the injury was self-inflicted, or occurred while he was in Iraqi custody or when he was captured. Strikingly the Al Queda terrorist manual tells terrorists to "lie" about being "abused" or "tortured", to "use the (U.S. military) system against itself". It is very likely this whole episode was staged to weaken our resolve in Iraq and Afghanistan by generating a new "Abu Ghraib" type controversy.

Abed was not water-boarded. He was not electro-shocked or tasered. His fingernails were not pulled out. Nor was he boiled in oil. He most certainly was not shot, burned, mutilated, nor hung from a bridge. He got a bloody lip. Many believe it was self inflicted in order to cause trouble for his captors. The military brass however, is so wimpy due to the political correctness of the current "nicey, nicey, culture" they run for cover should the "i's" not be dotted nor the "t's" crossed.

The SEAL TEAM brought the guy in. He was captured, not shot. He is alive. Is the real message here that they should have not taken him alive and saved everyone alot of trouble? This is not only an outrage, it is insane. I appeal to you not to let this pass without taking action. This kind of situation requires intervention. This requires you to do your part to make sure that the government backs off from the prosecution of our sailors.

What We are Doing

We are currently asking for support to run ads to get the word out to the American people prior to the court martial. A Nexis search shows that the national media is NOT reporting this story. We are hopeful that people will contact leaders who can make this disgraceful witchhunt go away: the military brass, the Armed Services Committees of the Congress, and the Administration. Americans will be OUTRAGED into action when they see these ads, and flood the marbled offices of Washington with their phone calls, faxes, emails and letters.

Even if you cannot afford to help us run our upcoming ads, please use our website's resources to CALL, EMAIL, FAX and write LETTERS to the decision makers in the military, Congress, the Administration, and also on Talk Radio and in the Media. Write an Op-Ed piece in your local newspaper! Anything will help get the word out about these men being railroaded for the sake of political correctness--or worse!

These men are being prosecuted because they did their job and because they did it well. This is what they are supposed to do. And aside from Fox News, the media is IGNORING this story!!!

Our soldiers and sailors are the men and women that have kept terrorists at bay for eight years. These are the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for you and your families. These are the men and women who have the enemy on the run right now so that you can sleep peacefully at night.

These are the men and women being shot at, blown up, injured and killed, and they are shooting back at the enemy to defend you against terrorists that would otherwise be in your town, shooting at you, taking your loved ones hostage and beheading them.

The prosecution of our Sailors for the alleged action against a terrorist is madness. Do not let this pass without a letter, email, fax, telephone call, to your senator, your representative, the President and the Secretary of Defense to tell them to back off the prosecution of these Navy SEALS.

You must do something to help these men. There's the line in the sand. Which side of it are you on? If you let this go without taking the actions necessary to defend your fighting men and women, YOU will have joined those that do the bidding of your enemies. Do not let that happen.

Tell the Government to backdown now!

TELL THEM TO DROP ALL CHARGES NOW AGAINST OUR BRAVE SEAL HEROES.

Now these SEALs have a hearing on December 7th to decide their fate! THE MEDIA WILL NOT REPORT THIS. We The People need to get the word out ourselves!
